Something about the concepts of convergence, divergence, and disruption has had a hold on me since I started seriously pursuing painting and printmaking. Vectors 1 is the first group of prints in which I’ve’ begun exploring these ideas in the context of the natural formations from landscapes juxtaposed against clean, sharp, orderly, inorganic, imposing shapes and lines. There is something oddly creepy and yet familiar about that juxtaposition to me, and I can’t let it go. Vectors 1 started in 2023 but is a series I’m still exploring until it feels like it needs to evolve into a new chapter.
